ASN is a giving church with both individual giving by our members and as a church. Some of the church-sponsored programs are:Scholarship programs that will help several girls finish high school.Prison Ministry & Social Justice.Flower Ministry for those in need and for the church on Sunday mornings.
Some of the special projects that our members are involved with are:Plan International (Phillip Groman) Plan’s work in Ecuador covers 3 key programme areas, all of which are rooted in the rights of the child: growing and learning for lifebuilding decent conditions for children and teenagersexercising the right to participation
Danielle Childrens Fund (DCF) (Helma van der Hoeven) DCF is working with children in difficult situations and their families. It is a Holland based foundation and is working in Ecuador and in Nepal. It's main goal is to maintain / improve the link between child and family, facilitating the family to find their own solutions for their problems. It is currently opening a "child and family center" in Ambato. HCJB (Bruce Rydbeck) The Clean Water Projects team helps South American communities improve their health through better hygiene habits, safe water and sanitation. Its goal is to facilitate communities in modeling Biblical values and improving health to those around them. Training in water system management and hygiene are integral to the program, as are evangelism, discipleship and pastoral training.Fundacion Jersey (Spanish Quito website) - (Dr. Nicky Bailhache and a number of volunteers from the congregation) Fundacion Jersey provides palliative care to improve the quality of life of patients living with cancer and other terminal diseases. An integral part of this care is supporting families through a relative's illness and once bereaved. Support is given to bereaved adults (spouses, parents and other adult carers), either individually or in group, and bereaved children and their carers may attend a craft day which is held twice a year at Advent St. Nicholas church - see galeria on the website.
