Helping with Earthquake Relief …

Many are helping and some are wondering how to help. To follow are the best opportunities I (Pastor Kit) am currently aware of:

Ask Henrik about the work he is doing in Puerto Viejo as it is changing week to week so that it best meets the needs as they change. Or ask Esteban Lasso about the developing work he and Tom have been working with at the coast. Or ask Marcia or Bob about the town their Rotary Club has adopted and the current needs they are seeking to fill.

As we get into longer term recovery efforts remember the many organizations that help to alleviate problems every day. There are organizations like Asylum Access (Bob Almquist), Centro Integral de la Familia(CIF)(Helen Braun), Casa Hogar(Ivan Salinas), Life Giving Water(The Rydbecks), Ecuador Partnership Committee of the UCC Southern Illinois Conference(Pastor Kit) and the Refugio(Astrid Schneider) that help to provide housing, clothes, food, mental health services and clean water all the time and will no doubt see need for their services grow during the long term recuperation efforts and so contributions to them is a way to contribute to the long term rebuilding efforts.

If you are aware of a worthy effort and would like it mentioned please email Pastor Kit the details so that I can include it in any information I might pass along to those who ask.
